One of the most critical vulnerabilities affecting this model was discovered in older firmware versions. It allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication requirements entirely by manipulating HTTP headers or URLs. This could give an attacker full administrative access to the router settings.
We tested the DSL-2750u V2 with (latest) vs. stock firmware 1.02 from 2018.
| | Setting | Value | |-----------|-------------|------------| | 2.4 GHz | Channel | 1, 6, or 11 (use Wi-Fi analyzer) | | 2.4 GHz | Mode | 802.11n only (not b/g mixed) | | 2.4 GHz | Bandwidth | 20 MHz (avoid 40 MHz – too much interference) | | Security | Encryption | WPA2-PSK (AES) – do NOT use TKIP |
