Fast forward five years. The girls are found feral, living like animals in the wild. They are taken in by their uncle, Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and his punk-rock girlfriend, Annabel (Jessica Chastain). Annabel, who despises children, must learn to care for these ghost-like girls. But the girls refuse to eat normal food, crawl on walls, and speak in guttural whispers. The reason? They are not alone.
