To understand why survivor stories are so effective, we must first understand how the human brain processes information. Statistically, we know that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Cognitively, we understand that breast cancer survival rates have improved by 30% over the last decade. But knowledge alone does not compel action.
